USS North Carolina BB-55

1/350 USS North Carolina BB-55 (Trumpter)

This is the first large model ship I've ever done. I used GMM PE, and JAG's Higgins PT Boat. I have about 250 hours in the build, and I added a few things that will go unnoticed if I don't mention them.

First is the two men over the side. This is for my Mom. We visited the USS Nimitz when I was just a pup, and when my Mom saw men over the side she said, "I wonder if their mothers know what they are doing." This always cracked me up, and now every time I see them I'll laugh.

Next is the men mustering on the aft deck. This is dedicated to the guys I worked with on the night shift aboard the USS Ranger. Our Chief would make everyone muster at 0800 every morning, and we got off work at 0600, so we would have to hurry and eat so we could make morning muster.

This model was a challenge for me, but with a LOT of help from Modelwarships I feel it came out well
