1/350 USS North Carolina BB-55 (Trumpeter)
This is actually my second build of Trumpeter's big Showboat in 1/350. This time I opted for the full hull rather than waterline, but I still elected the 1944 outfit with Measure 32 camo. Paints are White Ensign Models. Photo etch is Gold Medal Models. I used Master barrels for the 16" guns. Rigging is EZ line and A-Line model railroad anchor chains. Steve Wiper's Warship Pictorial #29 was also a helpful resource. The build took about 95 hours working on and off (mostly off) over 18 months. I grew up in North Carolina and visited the ship in Wilmington a couple of times as a kid. It's a great activity for anyone in the area.
