1/110 HMS Anson 1889 (Scratchbuilt)
This model is scratch built using plans from the NMM. Hull is of bread
and butter construction and carved from lime wood. The deck is also lime
wood and laid in scale planks with caulking. Four sheets of self designed
photo etching were employed, each sheet was 12"x18". Each porthole has
been glazed and the rigging rope was made on a self-made ropewalk. All
the metal pulleys are functional and there is a self made brass wheel in
both bridge wheelhouses. The 12 bottlescrews were self-made and work correctly
with left and right-hand threads. The main armament was turned from aluminum
bar, all other armament was turned from brass.
