1/350 HMS Repulse Dec. 42 (Trumpeter)
This is my build of HMS Repulse in its exact camouflage for Force Z
as of December 1941. Allot of research went into the camouflage colors
including the Raven Books, photos and using WEM paint chips and CC Paints.
The paint on my model is exactly how HMS Repulse would have been painted
when it arrived in Singapore. Although many people model the two tone camouflage
as dark gray, it was in fact black and this is confirmed in the Raven books.
It was explained that B&W photos the angle of light can make the same
color appear different when in different shades and hit by the sun at a
different angle of have the reflection of water.
I have also constructed HMS Prince of Wales at the same date and included
two photos of the models together.
