1/350 IJN Kongo (Aoshima)
Kongo was a warship of the Imperial Japanese Navy during the First and
the Second World War. She was commissioned in 1913 like a battlecruiser
and in 1929 the Japanese Navy rebuilt her as a battleship. Kongo sank with
all her crew including her captain, by a submarine (USS Sealion) in the
Formosa Strait at November 21, 1944. Kongo was the only Japanese battleship
sunk by a submarine during the Second World War.
