1/350 IJN Battleship Yamato (Tamiya)
The kit I used is 1/350 IJN Battleship Yamato (new tools) from Tamiya. The kit included some photo etched parts and several optional parts. I also used photo etched detail up set & wooden deck from Pontos Models, photo etched rail set from KA Models, and WWII Japanese navy utility boat set from Tamiya and so on. I painted the model ship with lacquers from IPP/Korea. For washing and weathering, some oil paints were used.
For realistic rigging, I referred to ‘Anatomy of the ship – The battleship Yamato’ and some photos of scaled model in Yamato museum in Kure, Japan. I used polyester mono filament yarn for signal lines at bridge yards and used fine ‘EZline’ for others.
I am very pleased to share my modeling experiences with anyone.
