1/700 IJN Battleship Yamato (Aoshima)
Yamato with Gold Medal Models' Yamato/Musashi PE set. I elected not to use any of those new Yamato super-detail sets--- at some point using those super sets just takes the joy of building away. That said I truly enjoyed the straightforward build process using almost no aftermarket replacement parts. Also the old and inexpensive GMM set is more than adequate to bring this model to life. The new AOTS Yamato book and the Kure Museum 1/10 Yamato model were the main sources of my references.
