30CM IJN Yamato (Minihobbies)
This is the Minihobbies 30CM scale Yamato kit. It seems to be a knockoff of the old bathtub toy, the one that had the torpedo shaped motor thingie that clipped on the bottom. Except it didn't include the motor. The kit is seriously inaccurate, hull shape is wrong, details are lacking, no aircraft, no anchors, superstructure details are both wrong and missing. Plus there's a awful rectangular seam line in the center of the deck. There is a comparison photo with the unbuilt Fujimi 1/700th scale Musashi kit to show the differences between the hull shapes and the size difference between the two scales.
At $9 the kit is a passable fair value. I built it to test a color scheme I've
been playing with and to bug Jorit (Jwingties). I would NOT recommend this kit due to
the poor quality and inaccuracies.
