1/350 IJN Yamato (Tamiya)
Hello there, my name is Stephen Middlehurst and here is my first model for about 15yrs, yes I did say 15yrs. I have had this kit and many more in my wardrobe for all this time just waiting to be done. Middle of last year I finally decided to have a go. So I bought all the Tamiya paints straight from the instuctions and started. Took my time and all in all its taken me about 6 months working a few hours a week. everything was hand painted. I have a small spray system, but as this was my first kit for years I decided to brush it all. Overall I am very happy with the results, even though I don't think the pictures look that good. The model looks a lot better than the pictures. As I said earlier the model was hand painted with the Tamiya paints straight from the Tamiya instructions so I might experiment with the sprayer for my next model. I am now going to start on the Tirpitz and the King George V, both from Tamiya in the same scale as this one. As can be seen on the model, I have yet to do the rigging. I can't decide which method to use, the sprue method or the Lycra method. Think I will just have to practise some first. Your comments on the model would be well received and yes I can already see some mistakes and some areas where I can improve on for next time. Thanks for looking.
