1/700 USS Indianapolis CA-35 (Tamiya)

I used the Five Star Indianapolis Upgrade set for this model.  I was very disappointed in the instructions from Five Star, as they were incomplete, and confusing, with some parts mislabeled.  There were little detailed construction instructions which left you to figure out the incomplete parts.  Frustrating, to say the least.  If you purchase this upgrade, spend considerable time familiarizing yourself with the photoetch.  The product itself, was high quality.

I have several other Five Star upgrade sets, and all have very thorough and complete instructions.  I trust this upgrade kit is the exception.

I particularly liked the antennae in the Flyhawk Essex photo etch, and Fine Molds quad bofors. I did cut and fold the wings on the Trumpeter SC-1.  You can find images of this plane on line.  Build time approximately four months.
