1/700 IJN Mogami (Tamiya)

The Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) launched the cruiser Mogami in 1935. During the Battle of Midway in June 1942, the ship was heavily damaged. The Mogami was rebuilt and then participated in the second half of the Pacific War as an Aircraft Carrying Cruiser. The ship was sunk during the Battle of Leyte Gulf , 25th October 1944.

IJN Mogami was equipped with 20.3cm cannons mounted on 3 dual gun turrets, 10 triple 25mm anti-aircraft batteries, 4 dual 12.7mm anti-aircraft batteries, 4 triple tube 61cm torpedo launchers. The “new” heavy Aircraft Carrying Cruiser was able to carry 11 hydroplanes of the following types: Aichi E13A “Jake” and Mitsubishi F1M “Pete”.
