CV-5 USS Yorktown

1/350 USS Yorktown CV-5 (Blue Water Navy)

Here is my portrayal of the USS Yorktown CV-5 in June of 1942 at the Battle for Midway Island.

This is a representation of the Yorktown as she appeared at 09:30. One hour before she launched her Air Group 3 strike force.

Aircraft on deck represent:

12 - TBD-1's of Torpedo 3 under Lt. Cmdr. Massey
17 - SBD-3's of Bombing 3 under Lt. Cmdr. Leslie
6 - F4F-4's of Fighting 3 under Lt. Cmdr. Thach and 4 - F4F's of the Standby CAP.

Model is still not completely finished. Have paint to touch up and straightening of P.E. to accomplish. Have to move on to other projects so sending these pictures in early.
