1/700 USS Wasp CV-7 (Aoshima)
I used the Aoshima kit along with the Aoshima Wasp PE set. I added 3D Modelparts 5 inch guns, 1.1 quads, single 20 mm, and .50 caliber machine guns. I used Trumpeter F4F’s and SBD’s instead of the kit aircraft. I added a little detail to the section of the hanger deck near the bow and made the base from acrylic gel painted and glossed. I painted her using AK Interactive acrylics. I modeled her as she was on September 15, 1942 making the turn to starboard just prior to the torpedoes striking.
