1/350 USS Hornet CV-8 (Trumpeter)

Under the Principle of calculated risk all three of the Yorktown class carriers ambushed four carriers of the IJN on 4-June 1942. This model is depicting the initial launch at 0700 from the Hornet that morning. This is my second build and despite my lack of experience and the "wonderful" instructions for the PE as well as the issues on the kit itself, attempting to get this looking remotely decent was a headache. Despite that I am over all pleased with how she turned out. Special thanks to Fred and mike for all the extra research that went into this kit as well as many others on this site.
