USS Ward DD- 139
by Tracy White

This is Revell's old "box" (about 1/240) scale flush deck four-stacker done as the USS Ward on December 7th, 1941 when she fired the first US shots of the Pacific War. About 50% of the structure above the main deck is scratch built. The kit is a hybrid of a flush-decker as launched in 1918 and as they were at the beginning of WWII, serious work was needed to correct inaccuracies and bring the kit up to standards. Evergreen plastic stockholders have to be happy with me! Due to the structural changes and fixes two Gold Medal Models brass sets were needed; special thanks to Loren for helping me out with that, and special thanks to Mike from Corsair Armada for the set of chocks that were used. Decals were custom printed on an Alps printer.
