1/350 USS Dunlap DD-384 (Iron Shipwright)

Model is of the USS Dunlap DD-384 as she appeared in October 1944 Battle for Leyte Gulf when assigned to TG-38.1.  Ship is painted in Measure 32/9d camouflage pattern. Kit is the Iron Shipwright 4-086 USS Conyngham DD-371 1/350 in resin. Everything from the bridge forward had to be modified.  The Dunlap had her forward 5"/38 Cal guns in turrets.  The standard Mahan class DD had their guns in shielded open mounts (see the Conyngham model).  All of these platforms and spray shields were removed and decks resurfaced to accommodate turrets.   The 5"/38 turrets were from the parts box and for the life of me I can't remember where they came from.
