1/700 USS Buchanan DD-484 (Dragon)
I present to you my version of USS Buchanan. There is a motion
movie (1954) that is my inspiration and because I decided to build this
model. Caine Mutiny with the great Humphrey Bogart as Lieutenant Commander
Philip Francis Queeg. The film depicts a mutiny aboard a fictitious World
War II U.S. Navy destroyer minesweeper, the USS Caine (DMS-18), and the
subsequent court-martial of two officers. The Caine was represented by
the US Navy destroyer minesweepers USS Doyle and USS Thompson. Thompson
was a Clemson Class destroyer but served very well for the film. Buchanan
was built as Gleaves Class. Some pieces were added from my spare parts
box.
