1/350 USS Samuel B. Roberts DD-823 (ISW)

This is my 1/350 USS Samuel B. Roberts in FRAM I configuration from 1966.  I built her for an old friend of mine whose father served on her in 1966.  I used the PE set that came with the kit, completely scratch built the main mast, scratch built the deck supports, added some miscellaneous scratch details, and painted her with WEM Enamels.  I used Modelkasten 0.15 mm wire for rigging and stretched sprue for antennas.  The base is made with the Chris Flodberg oat method coated with modeling paste, painted and glossed with cotton coated in gloss acrylic gel for the wake.  This was my first resin kit and it was a very nice kit.  The fit and finish were excellent on the kit and I really enjoyed building her.  My friend and I presented her to his father last weekend and he was overjoyed to receive her.
