This is another model built on the job. My destroyer molds were old and pretty beat up so I had to make new ones. My first set of molds were of the Oscar Austin but I made the molds well prior to the construction of the real ship. Needless to say, I had to make changes to the castings to get a proper Austin once the real one was built. Now I have a fresh set of molds that produce a Meyer right out of the molds with no changes needed. Sweet! What a time saver. I was fortunate because I was able to photograph the real ship while I was making the new patterns. In this scale the model is just shy of 24” long. As you can see by the way the resin castings are arranged, I can leave off the Phalanx or replace the new stacks with the older ones to build just about any Burke Class Flt IIa.
