1/700 USS John C. Butler DE-339 (Pitroad)

The John C. Butler was one of the hundreds of Escorts they were built for the U.S. Navy. She saw service in the Pacific, in October 1944 she belonged to Carrier Task Group 77.4.3, radio code Taffy 3. On 25th October 1944 the John C. Butler and the other Escorts of Taffy 3 attack the engagig Japanes Fleet to protect the carriers. The Display is showing the Butler running high speed and firing at the Cruisers and Battleships. One Carrier and three Escorts were sunk but the fast and aggressive attack save the rest of the TG till the main Carrier strike force arrived at the scene.

The model from Pit Road was god detailed and easy to built. I added GMM etched parts Destroyers and Destroyer Escorts to the model.
