1/700 HMS Glasgow D88 (Dragon)

This picture shows a representation of HMS Glasgow D88 a batch 1 Type 42 Destroyer, Commissioned 25th May 1979, Decommissioned 1st February 2005.

Model Dragon and a good kit. Originally when trying to put model ships in a picture to hang on a wall, I tried various shapes, round, square and rectangular for the frames.  I made 3 type 42 models Sheffield/Coventry/Glasgow and placed one in each respectively to check on effect.  HMS Glasgow background not that good and frame I felt better used for a larger Ship type, so eventually took it apart to re-use the Ship and Frame in better combinations.

I am sure I read somewhere that HMS Glasgow held the record for a British Warship going the furtherest South for a time, so thought I would do a picture with an Antarctic theme in a large half round.  Possibly got carried away with the penguins and not mastered making the Ship more lifelike, but slightly better composition.  Was tempted to put a Polar Bear in the picture, but managed to hold fast, although I still got something misplaced, though unintended.
