1/700 HMS Shikari 1940 (HP Models)

Known as the last ship to leave Dunkirk as part of Operation Dynamo in 1940 HMS Shikari was built by William Doxford and sons of Sunderland and completed in 1919 by Chatham RN Dockyard, she became well known pre-war as the radio control ship for target ships HMS Agamemnon and the HMS Centurion (both former battleships) during annual live firing exercises, fall of shot was photographed from HMS Shikari to analyse results, by 1940 she was re-armed with 2 x 4inch, 1 x 3inch AA, 1 x 2pdr pom-pom and 2 x twin 21inch TT, on her 6th and final trip to Dunkirk on the night of 4th June she led 3 blockships in to seal the harbour and took the last load of troops out, in all she rescued 3,589 troops, in late 1940 she was converted to an ASW escort and she was scrapped in 1944.
