1/700 HMS Zulu G18 (Trumpeter)
This picture shows a representation of HMS Zulu G18, a Tribal Class Destroyer going South past the Norway Coast under attack from 3 Stuka's during WW2. She was completed 6th September 1938, sunk in 1942 off Tobruk in North Africa. The model is a 1/700 Trumpeter and I used the paint scheme for the Ship as suggested on the Trumpeter box and instructions. I modified the kit with White Ensign Models PE793 photo etch for British and Canadian Tribal Class Destroyers which is a cracking bit of kit.
I originally set this particular model Ship into my first attempt at a pothole type picture back in March 2018, (picture attached) which was meant to look like it was a porthole cut from a Warship, but it did not really work. Sky and overall effect not what I was after, so I decided to rip it apart and start again. I just enjoyed mucking about with this one as anything would of been more appealing than the first picture, although I realise the North Sea can be grey on first glance. Happier with this effort, which reminds Me of the covers on the small Commando story comic like books that used to be about when I was a kid which was purely accidental. My Pictures tend to work best on stairs as you either wander up or down with changing angles opening slightly different aspects of the view, never stopping for long for any closer inspection so luckily the errors hidden.
