Bravy

1/700 Bravy, Kotlin-Prototype (Combrig)

Here is first Soviet ship that was built to carry a SAM; the SA-N-1. Bravy was the last destroyer of the large Kotlin class, also known as Project 56 and was completed as Project 56-K, known as the Kotlin-Prototype.

This ship was a trials ship for the SA-N-1, and prototype for upgrades to most of the Kotlins into DDG's - Project 56-A (Kotlin-SAM). An interesting subject.

The Combrig kit, in spite of claiming to be 56-K, in reality is a 56-A destroyer; he is not fitted with the AK-230. Bravy was different from both 56-A types, he had a uniquely shaped second funnel, uniquely shaped rear mast for the Peel Group radar, and as an original Project 56 fitted with two quad semi-automatic 45mm/85-caliber gun system. I knew it from the beginning, but it was fun to modify it. The biggest problem - I have only few photos of the ship, not good enough to see small details. Overall I'm happy with result. PE is from GMM and some from Tom's..
