My North Atlantic diorama consist of four ships. Two escorts the icebreaker
Eastwind from Loose Cannon Production and the WPG 75 Algonquin from Battlefleet
Models. The two merchant ships are the Liberty ship from Pit Road and a
tanker from WSW.
The WPG-75 Algonquin
This is a really nice small kit realize from Battlefleet Models. The
casting is absolute clean without any flaws and real sharp edges like usually
you can only see at plastic kits or the best resin companies.
With the kit comes a small PE set from Tom Modelworks with everything
you need.
I have decided to show the Algonquin in a Ms 16 Thayer system which
she has in 1943 in the North Atlantic.
The Icebreaker Eastwind
This is the real good known kit from Loose Canon. Is it double in size
as the Algonquin. But for such a small ship it is extremely good detailed
with many parts and a great specific PE set for the kit.
I have also painted her in the Ms 16 system from 1943 as it is shown
on the box art from Loose Cannon.
The Liberty ship comes from PitRoad/Skywave. I have added railings
and some other Pe parts for detailing the ship. The Ms 21 Navy Blue system
I have washed out.
The tanker is the old WSW kit of the Salome. I think she looks like
many other tanker of that time so that it is possible to show her together
with a Liberty ship in a North Atlantic convoy.
