1/700 Bidasoa DM-1 in port (HP Models-Hasegawa)
The scene is a harbor of the North of Spain in the 1950’s. The mine-sweeper is leaving port whilst a ship of the SHAW SAVILL LINE ( Furness Withy Group ) of Southampton is in route from the U.K. to Australia and New Zealand ( see the funnel, pennants and colors of shipping company ). She is entering to repair some sudden damage at sea . Why not ?.The Bidasoa Type (7 vessels serial with spanish rivers names : Bidasoa, Nervión, Lérez, Tambre, Guadalete, Segura and Ter ) were based on the german type M-40 kit was obsolete at this time with 2 Alternative Steam Engines, 2 Yarrow boilers, 2.200 HP and 152 Tm firing coal . The same in armament : 1 88 mm. Rheinmetall naval gun, 1 37 mm. Rheinmetall and 2X1 Rheinmetall a.a. guns. 12 deep charges. The Mine-sweeper is a resin kit from HP Models. The liner is the very well know Hasegawa ship Hikawa maru. The tugs from the same Hasegawa Tugger Set transformed into spanish tugs appearance. The sounded bucket ladder dregger is scratch as is the trawler, yacht and small puffer. The sea is from FALLER.
