MTB102 at Dunkirk

1/700 MTB102 at Dunkirk (Scratchbuilt)

Dawn on an early June morning, 1940. A Royal Navy motor torpedo boat MTB 102 slowly pulls up to a column of British soldiers, some chest deep in the waters of the English Channel, all waiting their chance to escape the chaos that is Dunkirk. A lone Hurricane flies low over the beach, a few more scramble onto the little ship and escape, others will have to wait a little longer for their turn. Some will never return home. Scratchbuilt MTB 102 with some parts from the Skywave Vosper kit, some WEM brass items and Eduard crew figures painted a more appropriate green. Hurricane is a wem part, photography has a little use of photoshop to remove the support wire for the aircraft and extend the area of sea, otherwise nothing altered. Many thanks to Roger Pearson for the reference photographs, I would have had 102 completely wrong without them.
