HMS Battleaxe F89 by Shaun Garnham

This is a NOTOTO, it is not a model as foreshortened, it is not a picture and is not a Diorama so a NOTOTO, Not One Thing Or The Other. This is HMS Battleaxe a Type 22 Batch 1 Frigate made in balsa wood adding card, etch and modified plastic bits for upper deck stuff, where less is more. It is going for the aesthetic feel of the Ship and not actually a lifelike exact copy or model of the Ship in question. The Design is loosely based on a Ships Crest and is only completed once it has a Sailor affixed by a chain, Ships do not work after all without them. In this case I have used a Character from a long running British comedy (no offence or other reason), Nora Batty, basically all I could come up with as a Club Swinger, seemed to fit. The Ship is smaller than 130mm so they fit on the oval and are meant to be viewed from a distance, mounted above 2.5m from the floor and under the influence of alcohol so they look better. They take too long to make so I came up with something else which I will post after another NOTOTO. The technique can be found in Forums Undocumented Builds, with more info.
