1/700 HMS Berwick F115 (MT Miniatures)
This multimedia picture is a representation of HMS Berwick F115, a Rothesay class anti-submarine Frigate, completed 1st June 1961 and sunk as a target in August 1986. She is shown sailing past the Suez Canal Defence Monument around 1975 going on a World deployment, the monument commemorates the Defence of the Canal against the Ottoman Turks during WW1.
MT miniatures resin model ship catches the feel and look of the class although I have managed to make it look slightly banana shaped with My fit in the picture, how I managed to do that I have no idea, as it is actually straight from above and looks OK looking at it. MT supply etch and metal parts, guns, mast and boats although I tend to use spare plastic parts from other model sets and etch from Starling Models. If after less well known modernish RN/RFA class surface ships MT worth a look.
I always seem to choose a particular Ship of class for a picture where I have to modify the ship - no matter whether plastic or resin. Ships being modified during their lifetime do cause a bit of trouble, so my efforts are not really particularly good due to the limited photographs taken over time, mostly black and white, without dates affixed ? I am not entirely sure Berwick sailed past the Monument in that direction, liked the composition and Ships Crest so apologies to ex crew if that's also wrong.
