1/600 HMS Phoebe (Airfix conversion)

This is a conversion of the venerable 1/600 scale of HMS Leander Airfix kit into HMS Phoebe as she was from 1988 to 1989 when I served on her for my Artificer Apprentice sea time.

HMS Phoebe was commissioned in 1966 and had 3 guises over her life; starting off with a gun followed by Exocet conversion and finally with a Towed Array sonar before retiring from service in 1991.

The model is depicted as entering harbour with Ensign and Jack staffs rigged and flying her call sign in signal flags.
