1/700 HMS Rushen Castle (Finewaterline)
HMS Rushen Castle was one of the Castle class of corvettes used by the RN and RCN. Later they were reclassified as frigates. They were the first ships to be equipped with the Squid ahead-throwing anti-submarine weapon. Completed in February 1944 she served with Escort Group B2 and later with B21. In 1961 she was converted to an Ocean Weather Ship and re-named Weather Surveyor and finally scrapped in 1982.
This model was made as the prototype for the Finewaterline kit and used photo-etch from various White Ensign frets. Subsequently a dedicated PE fret has been produced for this kit for the lattice mast and bridge wing supports and this is now supplied with the kits.
