HMS Rochester

1/700 HMS Rochester (Scratchbuilt)

While working with Mike McCabe on the Grimsby class sloop kits, I gathered a lot of information about other sloop classes and this is the Shoreham class HMS Rochester fresh from her refit in July 1942. The hull and superstructure and funnel were scratch built from plastic card using “bread and butter” construction for the hull. Etched brass from the excellent WEM fret for the V &.W class destroyers was used and in some cases adapted. The 4” guns are Niko items with a splinter shield added.
