1/700 USS Independence LCS-2 (Cyber-Hobby)
Using the basic, lightly armed 1/700 scale Cyber Hobby model of the Independence class of littoral combat ship and making extensive use of my spare parts stash and a little scratch building, I produced two versions of the "upgunned" LCS. One with a single eight cell vertical launching system (VLS - scratch built)) forward of the bridge on the main deck and the original 57mm gun. The other version with two eight cell VLS (scratch built) in the superstructure and armed with the new version of the OTO Melara 76mm gun. I equipped both variants with bridge wings (scratch built), harpoon missile canisters, 30 mm guns, ASW torpedo tubes and electronic warfare countermeasures - SLQ-32, NULKA (scratch built) and chaff launchers.
