1/700 SMS Rhein 1870 (Ocean Moon)

This is the model of the German river monitor SMS Rhein. The new German Navy built two ships, the Rhein and Mosel. They where named after the border rivers to France Rhine and Moselle. The Task of ships where a Defence of the border in a German-French war. But as a war came more and more unlikely and the progress in the weapons Technology both ships where soon took out of order and scraped.

The model is from the chinese model maker Ocean Moon and is a complete pe model. Only the funnel and some small bits are plastic. As I live near the rivre Rhine this was a must built from me.
