1/100 Geobukseon Korean Turtle Ship (YoungModeler)
This is a model of the speculative replica of the Geobukseon, or turtle ship, on display at the War Memorial of Korea in Seoul. The hull of the 1/100 YoungModeler kit was built out of the box, with all the details, including ironwork, armor plating and spikes, access hatches, sails and rigging, and anchor being scratchbuilt, and the dragon head heavily modified.The Geobukseon was supposed to have been built in the later half of the16th century, and used by Korean Admiral Yi Sun-sin to defeat the Japanese naval forces of Toyotomi Hideoshi’s daimyos from 1592 to 1598.
