SEABAT Class Attack Submersible built by Eric Mante I decided to convert a Ho229B German Flying Wing fighter into an underwater attack submersible as a "What If" fantasy subject due to the fact that several parts were missing or lost from the kit and the model could not be built into the aircraft that it was. The basic shape of the aircraft does look remarkably like that of a manta ray sea creature and this is what I modeled my kit after. The model is painted Testors Euro 1 Gray on top and Testors Camouflage Gray on bottom. The nose gear bay was turned into a weapons bay to hold two scratchbuilt torpedos made from Evergreen rod. Two "mini-torpedo" launchers were added underneath and to either side of the weapons bay which were made from 1/48 scale aircraft bombs. I also added two (One under each wing.) "Orca Class" stealth torpedos, which are actually stealth cruise missiles from an old F-19 Stealth Fighter kit from the mid 80's. A sharkmouth decal can be seen under the nose of the model, and also two eye decals (One on each side of cockpit.) were also added to give the illusion that this craft looked like a larger-than-life sea creature than the attack craft that it is.
