CAM Ship

1/500 CAM Ship (Scratchbuilt)

This is more of a theme than an actual ship. The thought of catapulting off of the bow of an freighter thinking the best that can happen is that you crashland in the North Atlantic ocean boggles my mind. That is what some brave fighter pilots did and this is my attempt at one of the vessels known as" Catapult Aircraft Merchantman". Photos of complete ships seem difficult to find and I could only see the forward part of the ships. I made a freighter from parts in my box, using a wood hull and some Revell bridge pieces. A little cargo on deck and some pe from GMM finish it off. The Hurricane is from Lindberg and is a Hellcat with trimmed wings. As you can see, I have replaced the radial air cooled engine for a water cooled Rolls.
