1/400 RMS Titanic (Revell-Monogram)

This is the older Revell 1/400 scale kit of the RMS Titanic. Not the most accurate of models out there, but definitely better than their even older 1/570 scale version.

It also doesn't have the same degree of accuracy and quality of the Minicraft or Academy kits, but for the price, it's not bad. Fit and finish of the molded parts also could use some improvement, but it does make an impressively large ship when finished.

This build was straight from the box with the only exception being the use of brass and copper wire for the rigging rather than the thread it calls for. I never like the way the thread looked on a model and trying to get the right tension with nylon line for all of the rigging isn't always possible. And although I've used stretched sprue in the past, I've found it to be too fragile in the long run where as CA glued brass seems to last forever and can take some serious bumps without breaking.
