RMS Titanic

1/570 RMS Titanic (Revell)

I spent about three months working on this model, and it really paid off. With a finishing of Dullcote, this ship is set for sail. When I put the hull together, I ran into some problems because I couldn't get the two pieces of the hull to stop bending inward. Here's a tip to solve this problem: measure the width of the deck, and cut several toothpicks to that length, and place them along the open part of the hull where the decks will eventually go. This will keep the hull from bending inward during the time it takes the glue to dry. Take a look at the smoke stacks. I had to mix the main color out of a shade of tan and copper. I'd say it turned out well. The decks were the most challenging part of the kit, as they have so much detail. I must have re-done the decks about six times before I was satisfied.
