1/350 K-19 Soviet Nuclear Submarine (Zvezda)
The "Hotel" Class submarine was the first generation nuclear submarine
equipped with nuclear ballistic missiles. K-19 was one of the first two
Soviet submarines of "Hotel" Class. K-19 was commissioned in April 1960
and decommissioned after 30 years, in April 1990. On July 4, 1961, a reactor
accident occurred on the K-19, while it was on exercises in the North Atlantic.
Eight crew members received fatal dose of radiation and died during the
next few days after this nuclear accident.
