770-01

1/350 USS Tucson, SSN-770 (HobbyBoss)

I built this model for a former shipmate, who had asked me to build a model of the USS Tucson, SSN-770 to go along with another model I'd built for him, which was of the new Arizona, SSN-803.  Both models are slated to be displayed at his local Submarine Veterans chapter.

The model was built from the HobbyBoss USS Los Angeles Class SSN-688/VLS/699i "3 in 1" kit.  It was built almost completely out-of-the-box with the exception of the addition of a 3D printed shrouded screw that was purchased from Ebay.  Tamiya and ModelMaster paints were used for the model.  Hull number decals were scavenged from the leftover decals from a Mikro Mir Sturgeon Class submarine model.
